Job Search

It was last weekend that my dear friend Laurie and I set off to look for summer jobs in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The weather was great, the hunt was successful (woot!), and I got to spend some quality time with one of my favorite girls.

Laurel and I lived together last summer in West Yellowstone, Montana. We worked looooong hours, met some cool people, made lots of money, and now just have a lot of funny memories to laugh about. I hope that this summer brings something similar to the table. We'll see.

talk about small towns - we passed through LOTS of these bitty things

Utah State University

To Whom it May Concern: I love my school. And with good reason. The people are great, the outdoors are lovely, it's a great college town, blah, blah, blah. I'm working on my third semester (three down, ten to go) and still look forward to the coming years.

However . . .

I have three complaints about my school. I'm usually no Negative Nancy, but this definitely needs to be put out into the universe.

1) School Colors- I'd really prefer red, but blue just clashes with SO many of the ensembles people put together on campus. Nothing worse than seeing about 37 athletes a day mixing their blacks and navy blues. You'd also think that the Cheer Squad and Aggiettes would figure out that half black and half navy blue uniforms do NOT go well with each other. All I can think during their half time show is how much they resemble a bruise.

2) Parking- Horrendous. We often times schedules our days around when the parking will be decent. A frequent problem on and off campus.

3) Temperature- Just a tad bit too chilly for my preference. But I'll take it if that means snow.

Back to point A, though, I love my school.

Utah State, hey, Aggies all the way. Go Aggies, Go Aggies. Hey! Hey! Hey!

Wednesday Night, Last Week

Cute girl.

Plus country music.

Plus belt buckle.

Equals . . .

A trip to the E.R. at 1 a.m.

Our lovely Jennifer, a great girl and room mate, slashed her hand open on the belt buckle of a young boy while enjoying herself at a night of county dancing. It was our pleasure as room-mates to assist her to the hospital and document the trip.

Besides . . .

Who wouldn't love some time with Sterling?

Or these girls.

Next time Jen decides to make an appearance at the Fun Park, she'll be wearing gloves.

Really?

Last night I was working.
This semester I found a hostess position at a local sports bar/grill. This job is pretty low key: seating people, keeping the mint basket stocked, picking up menus, answering the phone, and cleaning the bathroom. So yesterday, I was fulfilling my favorite part of this job by cleaning the men's bathroom. Interesting that they always have so much LESS water on the sink than the women's bathroom. Wash your hands boys!!! I made sure there was plenty of t.p., the counters were cleaned, etc. Just as I was finishing up, a guy in his mid-twenties came in. He obviously hadn't noticed the sign on the door "Closed for Cleaning." Sheesh.

Me: Oh, I'm sorry, I was just finishing up.
Man: Oh it's cool. I'm not shy.

He immediately pranced towards the urinal and was obviously getting ready to just do his business right in front of me. SICK. Is there no respect for the fact that a) I am a female, and b) I just might not be as comfortable with this as he was. I hurried out of the restroom and had a good story to tell my co-workers for the rest of the shift.

Best Bathroom in Logan

I first saw this after taking my initial trip inside the "Retro House" (not too far from my apartment). My room mates introduced me to the gentlemen that reside there and, I have to say, their bathroom has class.

How did I get this?

This morning, I was happy to wake up and see on my cellular phone the displayed date of February 4, 2010. Happy Birthday Dad!!! I have more than a few reasons to be thankful for him.

Get to know Grant Foster:

One of the hardest working individuals I know
One of the most accepting family members I have
One of the most avid big-game hunters I've met
One of the most honest individuals I know
One of the best drivers in a snow storm
One of the only people that can make me smile on a bad day
One of the most committed parent-coaches in Davis County
One of the happiest guys I know

My dad is truly one of a kind.
